Javier Arnal, componente de la banda de culto “Corcobado y Los Chatarreros de Sangre y Cielo”, repasa su discografía en Almería, tierra donde empezó a componer como solista y donde ha grabado todos sus trabajos.

La frontera puede llegar a ser una «tierra de nadie», un lugar que bien podría ser un universo con leyes propias y que acoge a todo aquel que se pueda sentir afín a un tierra vasta, casi sin fin, donde los días son largos para caminar y, las noches, quietas e inmóviles, son pasto de historias pasadas, de recuerdos y canciones, como las canciones de Javier Arnal.

Javier Arnal es un caminante dentro de esa frontera, al igual que un viejo Johnny Cash, un tierno Townes Van Zandt o un elegante Nick Cave vestido con los ropajes de Lee Hazlewood.

Sus canciones destilan amor y muerte bajo la narrativa de las «Murder ballads» y la melancolía de los fotogramas de Sam Peckinpah.

Arnal, de susurro y quejido nocturno, arma sus canciones del mismo material con el que se componen las historias eternas, de recuerdos y pasiones.

The border can become a «no man’s land», a place with its own laws welcomes anyone who can feel akin to a vast territory, almost endless. Over here the days are long and deeply silent for walking. And the motionless nights are still remnants of past stories, music, and memories of walkers, such as the Javier Arnal songs.

Javier Arnal is the inhabitant, the traveler of the border, like an old Johnny Cash, as a tender Townes Van Zandt or an ultra-stylish Nick Cave wearing the garb of Lee Hazlewood.
