THE SHOW MUST GO ON! Yes, the show will go on, but taking all sanitary precautions, we even bought a Co2 meter!!
After two weeks of break we were happy to welcome again in Almeria some musicians from the BigBand and also to meet new faces. Toni Vaquer, a great music director from Mallorca, was incharge of this week’s repertoire. It is an incredible honor to have him on Clasijazz again. The way he direct and his taste for music had all of us hypnotised.
He came together with Pep Garau, Tomeu Garcias and Miguel Moises from Mallorca. After a long journey they arrived save around 18h to start the rehearsal. The new BigBand formation had also new incorporations such as the one of Carlos Ligero, Peter Connolly and Victor Jiménez. Thas last two are both part of the residing Valmuz group (in company of Chris Attwell who will soon join the BigBand for another repertoire). Later that evening also arrived the drumer Andreu Pitarch from Barcelona. Finally, we were all ready and Toni could start the rehearsal. From the first tones we could say that this repertoire was amazing. Refreshing, difficult to play and modern. We, he whole Clasijazz Team, who were not playing, were listening carefully and enjoying the atmosphere. We were so happy that CJBb was back. Toni´s repertoire was supposed to be recorded on February 10th and performed live in Sevilla the day after.
The rehearsals continued also on Monday and Wednesday to be 100 % ready for the upcoming concert. That repertoire was just incredible!
